Living Through Hurricane Elsa – Preparation, Experience, and Aftermath

On July 2nd, 2021, 6 months after moving here, we lived through our very first hurricane in Barbados (the first to hit the island in over 60 years). This is what the experience was like for us in preparing for it, living through it, and seeing what some of the surrounding areas looked like after it passed. All footage captured was either leading up to the hurricane or, on the day of. We will be capturing more aftermath footage from other parts of the island this weekend to share with you soon.

Thank you for your kind wishes, care, check-ins and love. We are very thankful it wasn’t much worse and are happy to report we are safe. That being said…many others on the island, as you will see, had a much rougher experience than we did, and we are hoping to find out information on how to help to provide in the links…we will update as we find them, or within our next video…stay tuned!

Power returned the night of Hurricane Elsa and then water went out on the morning of 7/3 which we are still currently working through as of this upload…thankfully we stocked up on water and filled the bathtub!

Thanks for watching!!
