We were having a conversation with Preston this week and he randomly had mentioned he wanted to add his own “thoughts” to the website. We have many discussions throughout the days and weeks about our upcoming move to St. Maarten and any emotions the kiddos are feeling. As we get closer and closer and are making steps to eliminate the “stuff” in our house, it is starting to feel a bit more realistic for both kiddos and the excitement that was felt early on has brought on some discussions about feelings of sadness they are experiencing as well. Whether that be about leaving friends, donating more toys, selling their bunk bed… we want to talk about it all and help ease their transition as much as possible while validating the feelings they are faced with.
Preston hasn’t quite grasped the fact that we won’t be living in the hotel he remembers from vacation when we make our actual move to the island. He has expressed sadness about not being able to pack all of his trains, airplanes and firetruck toys in his suitcase!
Once he expressed his desire to have “Preston’s thoughts” on the website and then quickly followed up with “what are thoughts”, we decided it might be fun to give you a little glimpse into our sweet boy, Preston!
