La Soufrière Volcanic Ash Fall: Part 2

The devastation to the island of St. Vincent continues as a result of the actively erupting La Soufrière volcano. The volcano began to erupt on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent last Friday, April 9th, 2021. For nearly a week, periodic eruptions have covered the island in ash and volcanic flows of molten rock and gas have gushed down the mountainside. Residents have been displaced and are left without, clean water, electricity, food, and shelter as many roofs have collapsed under the weight of ash.

As we continue to document our own journey living on the island of Barbados, our hope is to also bring awareness and resources to the disaster relief efforts taking place for the people of St. Vincent.
