Coming back from our longest family vacation yet was a little tough and these two were so sad to leave the island of St. Maarten. As a family we place a huge priority in travel and exposing our littles to other cultures. They may be little but they soak it all in year after year.
It is heartwarming to hear our 7 year old express gratitude for the little things we take for granted in the US… like the fact that we don’t typically have to pay money to use a restroom. Hearing her acknowledge all the amenities we are accustomed to here in the states that others don’t have the luxury of was just a sign that our travels are impacting her and teaching her that we are lucky for all that we have, big and small.
Our 3 year old looks on in awe at the various languages and accents he hears around the island and plays on the beach, sharing toys with with another child of the same age using hand gestures and smiles to communicate like best buddies despite speaking completely different languages.
“The tan will fade but the memories will last forever!”
Thank you Saint Maarten for an amazing experience and the opportunity to meet such incredible people along the way!! Your kindness throughout the island has greatly impacted our family! We can’t wait for our next opportunity to visit!
