As our children are growing older and becoming more and more accustomed to less material items and valuing experiences over physical items we figured it was the perfect opportunity to capitalize on just that. The Christmas wish lists of past were deep in toys and gift ideas and this particular year both our kids struggled to come up with ideas of things they really needed or wanted.
As such we decided to wrap small gift items to have the tradition of opening gifts Christmas morning, however, focused on creating one incredible experience for the entire family in lieu of traditional larger holiday gifts.
What resulted was a trip of a lifetime we hope to in turn make a yearly tradition full of laughs, many shivers from the cold these island kids aren’t used to, great conversations, many many smiles, lots of steps, delicious food and to top it off some quality time with friends and family along the way!
If you are debating on whether to take that trip, stop procrastinating and make it a reality! You won’t regret it and you will build memories and experience that will last a lifetime!
