Welcome to the long awaited adoption story!
The kids, Kira especially, has been wanting a dog for many many years. She has asked Santa, the Tooth Fairy, Jesus and recently had her entire school praying that someday soon she would get a dog. She has admitted to having trouble concentrating on school work in class because she can only day dream about dogs. It has become quite an obsession this past year.
We have made numerous visits to the local animal rescue shelters on the island and both kids absolutely fell in love with one dog in particular on a visit back in December. We put together a Pros & Cons list, a budget and a responsibility breakdown in preparation for the dog. This past week it was finally time to make their wish come true!
